My life experience has been very varied. After 2 years at the Johannesburg School of Art (1978 & 1979) boredom set in and I spent six months working in the display department of a clothing chain. After that there was a brief foray into the world of advertising, which did not suit me at all, after which I successfully ( and lucratively ) free-lanced for 9 years. There was another brief period once more in a display department, but corporate life was not for me. In 1991 I moved to Graaff-Reinet and with my partner set up a business which was intended to not only generate income for us, but also to create jobs. After 8 hard years, during which we learned a lot but also lost a lot of money, we closed it down. This was followed by 5 years during which we owned and ran a very successful Bed & Breakfast and Restaurant which was sold in 2004. Since then I have had the freedom finally to devote time to my various creative interests. September 2004 saw the exhibition Hidden Colour which was concerned with Karoo Landscapes. This was followed by Life On Mars in 2005, a complete departure from the work of the previous year. I have also been writing articles for magazines and newspapers, drawing a cartoon strip, and doing logos and illustrations for various products. Price Range US$ 72-1,380 Exhibitions Karen McKerron Gallery, Johannesburg; Ibis Art Gallery, New Bethesda; National Arts Festival, Grahamstown 2005; Chocolat Gallery, Graaff-Reinet (on-going).
