About "Rick's Dome"

A few years ago there was a restoration of the Capitol dome that Rick Walker of Walker's Framing took part in. While atop the Capitol building, Rick took the photograph that I refered to while painting this piece. Prints of the photograph itself sell very well for Walker's Framing and I too was struck by the beauty and uncommon perspective of it. The style is my usual blend of illustrative-realism; as shown in the flag and statue, Expressionism; evidenced within the dome, Impressionism; in the background's soft pastel hues, and Post-Impressionism; which I'm sure is somewhere in there as it usually is.
