The accusations, counter accusations and in fighting of the SARFU (South African Rugby Football Union now SARU) leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. the very structure, which governs our rugby, has been eaten from the inside.

About Ian

Ian Mackie was born in 1967. He studied Graphic Design at East London Technicon. Ian paints in a variety of mixed media ranging from oils and charcoal to working on rusted metal sheets. His "Afrocentric" style is a unique and varied mixture, influenced by African myth, social commentary, animals, icons and landscapes.

Latest Work
In May this year Iziko Museums hosted a "Picasso in Africa" exhibition in Cape Town. After viewing the master's works, I was deeply aware of how child-like and simple colours can become, and just how powerful such images can be. This, together with the humour of street life in Observatory, have inspired my latest works.
