Reference Still Life/ Copper and Pomegranates About "Shades of Ochre" I discovered a Pomegranate bush hidden behind other shrubs on our farm. I picked one and broke it open. The ruby coloured seeds fascinated me. A memory sprang to mind..a wooden music box with a tiny ballerina that starts dancing once you open the box. This is a painting that evoked memories of hidden pleasant small surprises reminding me that life (one of the spiritual meanings of the Pomegranate) is indeed wonderful to be hold. |
