About Frans

Frans Coetzee

Frans Coetzee, artist of Pretoria, specialises in Multi-Subject Realistic and Illustrative Art mostly working on assignments and have done artworks across the subject range:

Mostly Wildlife (Big Fives- Full length bodies and heads only, Elephants, Lions, Leopards, Cheetahs, Kudu, Birds, Eagles, Horses etc),

Still Lives (Flowers, Kitchen table scenes with fruits and Nederberg wine bottle, etc),

Landscapes (with animals, without animals, Tablebay, Desert scenes etc),

Portraits (Ernie Els and Retief Goosen, Shaka Zulu, Clients' parents/children/family portraits or themselves, Formula One racing car etc),

Military (World War II etc)

Fantasy (Batman, African Queen, As per clients' specifications)&
Nudes

I love creating artworks that are a compliment to the subject. It's said that an artists painting represents the colour that he sees and his perception of the subject and I love seeing my artworks emulate the beauty of God's Creation in full vibrant colour&detail!

Commissions welcome and prints available on certain artworks by order only!

Exhibitions

Works were mostly done on commission as per clients request but many works were made for exhibits which were privately exhibited on request or as I found an exhibition where I would be able to exhibit and I organised quite a few of my own exhibitions-in total all the exhibitions were a few times a year at various different venues. Many artworks I did for myself for my own collection and some are for both exhibitions but also for my own collection.

Education

1979-1981 studied Graphic design at WITS passed with distinction
