Reference ABS306141 About "She Breathes" This painting was done in a continuation of my feelings whilst painting The Crab. These were shapes and ideas that came to me at three a.m. when many pictures and colours float through my mind whilst in a semi dream like state. |

Painting and drawing was first introduced to me at a young age by my father who had attended art school and also loved to paint. My first paintings followed the "old school" style where the picture was a likeness of what was visually seen. This, however, was too restrictive and at the age of 55 and semi retired I was able to set up a studio at home. This enabled me to express my feelings and love of colour more freely. Now there are not enough hours in a day to put all my ideas on canvas. Mostly my paintings start as an idea formed from nature or natural occurence but once started the colours and shapes take on a life of their own.
