About Lauren
Art is a passion and not just a pursuit. It is something you feel in your soul: the need to create and feed your innermost being.
[0x1]life is full of contrasts, It is my pleasure as an artist to enhance them with a paintbrush[0x1]
When painting a horse I am consumed with detail muscle movement perfection
I have always loved to express myself creatively and I love colour[0x1]since before I can remember.
I graduated from Rhodes University in 1995 with BA hon. HDE. Thereafter I sent time teaching in mainstream schools.
Despite my devotion to teaching I was drawn to the path of painting.
I work extensively on commissions and when the inspiration takes me I devote myself to my own paintings, whether they be horses or wildlife or something a bit different.
I enjoy teaching from my home based studio, taking on commissions and working on pieces which are available at selected galleries and exhibitions.
I exhibit my work annually and have exhibited at Kirstenbosch, Atlantic Beach Golf Estate, and Rest en Frede.
Thus Art; teaching and painting have become my life. An intense experience filled with light and dark, sprinkled with color.
