About Drummond
Died 25/12/2012
Since early childhood, my eyes have been the windows for my Soul - I have been literally focused upon the objective observation and potential understanding of everything I have ever looked upon and have always claimed my instinctive need to two-dimensionally re-present the shapes and forms that I see. I naturally possess personal preferences of subject matter, especially in my paintings - It seems that my Soul has a special affinity with the human physical form. Therefore my work aims to expose and amplify the particularly fascinating aspects of human faces and human bodies as I see them. And therein lies the basic impetus for my continual striving - To provide a fresh look, a new slant, an originality of perception based within my imaginative reinterpretation and artistic design of any subject matter. And therein also lies my purpose as an artist....I possess a genuinely HONEST Soul and TRUTH is the keyword to my overall existence - However, having spent many decades devoted to the performing arts, my current presentational credo is this: "To capture audience attention, one must be original and imaginative; one must be an entertainment magician; and one should always provoke and stun one's audience!"....for therein may ultimately lie the reception of any 'messages' one attempts to transmit?
