About Tessa
I am primarily a jeweller and have been been self employed since 1986. I work in a variety of mediums such as silver gold and I use a lot of gemstones in my work. I love to use recycled materials to make jewellery and collectibles. I use Bottletops, plastic lids, pull tags from cooldrink bottles and fabric scraps which I bead. Like all artists I am inspired by so many things. I am very happy with a paintbrush in my hand and try to capture the way people connect with the universe around them and what it does them. I try to capture that intimacy between people that love each other. I love families and find mine an endless source of inspiration. I want to paint the snippets of poems that reel around in my brain. Light inspires me and the way it connects me to my paintings. Spirals inspire me. They are my feel good shape and I somehow find a way of including them in most of my work be it jewellery or paintings or sculptures. I am endlessly inspired by nature. I collect organically shaped stones on the beach that inspire me and find intersting tales in them which i translate into clay. I love staring new projects
