About Louis Stroh

Louis Stroh van der Walt: "I get my inspiration from my immediate environment and my approach is an expressive impression of what I see. I use my subject (usually landscapes) only as vantage point to obtain as much movement and atmosphere possible."

Louis van der Walt makes strong use of contrast and colour as well as broad quick brushstrokes to create emotion, sometimes subtle sometimes bold. His aim is to get an interaction between space and atmosphere and the inner feelings it evokes in us.
