When I started this painting, I never thought it would become a painting done on four canvases! It started with the first canvas, the right bottom one. It's an acrylic pour so I have got not much control over the flow of the paint. What a surprise awaited me! I saw a Bear, Ice Bear, birds and planets or maybe "eggs" representing "life" and "birth". I just knew then, it's going big!! What do you see? I used mixed media for the sphere that connects all four painting into one.

About Christel
Hi there
I grew up in Pretoria East. After school, I started my career as an Environmental Control Officer. Over the course of the next few years, I would work managing a Game Capture Team, and Managed a Game farm.
After working as an Industrial Engineering Draughtsman for 10 years, I chose a more creative path. I started with a variety of art mediums but have narrowed it down to painting, carving, macram[0xC3A9] and pewter.
Art for me is about telling a story. A blank canvas in front of an artist is both an adventure and a challenge. An adventure because you get to create something from scratch and a challenge because you don't always know how it's going to turn out. I guess it's this mystery that keeps me returning to the canvas.
I also work on commission, creating distinct pieces that will tell your story.
