About "Table Mountain Sunrise"

I painted this from a photo taken by Jaco Cilliers at Robbin Island at 5:30 am. This is most unusual as photographers are not allowed on Robbin Island that time of the day. This is possibly the view Madiba would have had from there.

About Colin

Colin Eksteen started painting in August 2000. "Although I have have had no formal art training, I served my 'apprenticeship' by successfully copying 80 famous paintings by the Impressionists and various abstract artists for LIPCO, a Law firm in S.A.
My true passion is Namibia and its'people, namely, the HIMBA tribe of Kaokoland. I recently spent a month with the Himba gathering reference material, which was a life changing experience for me that will always cause me to strive to capture the enchanting character of these beautiful people on canvas.
I hope my paintings convey the spirit in which they were painted."
