About "The Campanile at Trinity College"
Here is a photo of my latest painting - the Campanile in the grounds of the magnificent Trinity College in Dublin - done from a photo that I took last year. Trinity College Dublin is recognised internationally as Ireland's premier university and is ranked in 52nd position in the top 100 world universities and 14th position in the top 200 European universities by the QS World University Rankings 2010. In the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2010 TCD is ranked 76th in the top 200 world universities and 15th in the top European universities. The University of Dublin, Trinity College was founded in 1592 There were 16,807 registered students in 2009/10. In 2008/09, TCD secured €89.7m in research income. There are over 92,005 alumni.
Visitors passing under the archway of Front Gate, entering the wide cobbled quadrangle that is Parliament Square, are greeted by the sight of the imposing Campanile, over 100 feet high . Often used as a symbol to portray Trinity College, the Campanile dates from the mid 19th Century. It is the most recent in a long line dating back to the original tower of the monastery of All Hallows, where the first foundations of the College were laid over four hundred years ago. The Campanile was donated in 1853 by the Archbishop of Armagh, Lord Beresford.

About Bill
I am a former Bank employee who has had a life long interest in art drawing and painting - which was never perused to its full potential, until recently.
In this regard, in January 2008, I was inspired to take up water colour painting and initially obtained guidance and help from the accomplished PE watercolour artist ,Jill Connacher.
I left the banking world in mid-2009 and have been painting on a regular basis since then aiming to produce 2 to 3 new works a month , and have been able to achieve this so far. I belong to 1820 Settlers Association Art Group in order to assist with my artistic development.
At the 2009 Annual Exhibition of ECWA (East Cape Watercolour Association) I was privileged to receive the trophy for the best Painting on Show. in that , my first year of exhibiting there.
I have also exhibited at the 1820 Settlers Ass Art Group's annual exhibitions. In October 2010 I held my first Solo Exhibition at the EPSAC Gallery in Port Elizabeth and this was followed up in April 2011 with a further solo exhibition at the Knysna Art Gallery and another exhibition there in October 2012.
I also have an interest in photography and many of my paintings are from photographs taken by myself, though I am not limited to this and use whatever source of reference I can.
My paintings cover a diverse subject range though I have a preference for landscapes, seascapes and buildings and I paint entirely in watercolour and gouache
I am passionate about my paintings and love the medium of watercolour and want to continue with this as long as possible and hope to exhibit my works as much as possible so as to be able to share them with the wider community. It is my wish that they give viewers of my paintings as much pleasure as I obtain from them.
