About "The Journey (of Discovery) Ii"
(Diptych)
This artwork is based on the journey of life and self-discovery by means of intense analysis. It's about escaping the "box" society tries to confine us in, and our little comfort zones, in order to see the bigger picture.
When you then take the time to meditate and start exploring life with an open mind, you realize how magnificent life really is.
And when you, take a deep breath and look at the stars in the sky, trying to imagine how peaceful and quiet it is "out there", you realize that you are made of stars.
In other words, there is no "out there" the "out there" is in actual fact "in here".
Anyway, if you look closely at the image, you will see the anatomical maps in the stars, symbolizing just that.
There is also a map-key in the bottom right-hand corner, with alternative routes, etc. I have chosen "the heart" as a place of special interest to visit along the way.

About Melany
WHAT HER WORK IS ABOUT:
In her latest works she has been dealing with different aspects of a journey, (namely the physical, mental, spiritual aspects).
She is currently working on a new series of works dealing with the technological journey towards Trans-humanism, and the age of so called “spiritual machines”
