About "Thy Will Not Mine"
Genesis 27:8 "Now therefore my son, obey my voice according to that which I command thee." Exodus 23:22 "But if thou shalt indeed obey His voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary to thine adversaries." Deut. 11:27 "A blessing if ye obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you this day" Deut. 13:4 "Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him and cleave unto him."
Hebrew Letter Resh.........the shape of resh is traditionally considered as symbolizing the back of the head. We are very prone to follow our own inclinations when our wills conflict with the will of God. We may readily admit that the Lord is our God, but we often fail to consult His will in important decisions.

About Joy
Having dabbled in language and the visual arts during my sojourn at the halls of higher education (Pretoria University and later at UNISA), I discovered that it is through the visualization and expression of creative thoughts that I am able to communicate most effectively. I am constantly challenged to combine image, word, content and process into a cohesive whole in order to conceptualize that which I am passionate about. The Bible is my greatest source of inspiration as its message, values and directives are my life[0x1]s controlling force.
I prefer to use personal symbols, represented by images of every day simple objects, to express the essence of ideas, explore solutions and ask questions. I attempt to make suggestions rather than make statements. My work remains open-ended and allows the viewer to partner the creative process on an intellectual and an emotional level. I am constantly aware of my dependence on, and inheritance from, the Great Creator in whose image we are all made. My input is thus essentially that of hope, healing, redemption, refuge and salvation, providing a place of rest for the spirit. PRINTS OF SOLD WORKS ARE AVAILABLE ON REQUEST
