About Titia
I use history and the varied cultural heritage of South Africa as sources for images depicting life on a cultural boundary. My work is essentially a search for identity in a fast evolving country: questions about my past( descendant of French Huguenots) are coupled with questions about the future in a country where the Westernization of its original peoples and the Africanization of European immigrants and colonists have been taking place for the past 300 - 400 years.
