About "Tree of Knowledge Stolen STOLEN"

Apples and the story of creation coupled with the geometry of our African baobob tree was the start of this picture. Moses and his staff metamorphed into the cross of salvation

About Jeanne

Jeanne Shepherd

She is an accomplished watercolour and mixed media artist who lives in Blairgowrie, Johannesburg.

Life in all its forms excites and thrills Jeanne. Colour, light and music are integral components of her personality.

When leaving work in 1995, she was shot through the right temple resulting in the loss of her right eye and two thirds of the sight in her left eye.

In 1997 to help overcome the trauma of her shooting she attended an occupational therapy programme and began painting. She then attended art classes with Sue Kemp that began her career as watercolour artist. She is an Associate of the Watercolour Society of South Africa and was elected a Fellow in 2007. She served as chairperson of the Johannesburg Branch of the South African Water Colour Society from 2002 to 2006. She is also a member of the Miniature Society of South Africa and the Ivy Artists.

Although mainly a descriptive painter of landscape and floral composition, in recent years she is concentrating on abstract and non-representational work, painting in watercolours, acrylics and mixed media.
