About Riana

Apart from being a teacher, Riana is also known as a versatile artist. She completed many artworks on commission. During tertiary education, art was her main subject and afterwards combined her career and art. Currently she concentrates on painting from her studio in Pretoria.
Riana believes, none have ever come close to the capturing of the human face as in oil on canvas. She considers herself as a classic realist and greatly admires the works of the masters and impressionists. She primarily works in oil on canvas and her subject matter is portraiture, figures and flowers. She also favor pencil drawings.
Art is not what you see, but what you can make others see Edgar Degas.
