About Marlene

Marlene Koekemoer

From a very young age I started experimenting with drawings and just loved to do water coloring's.I eventually ended up at college after school studying textile design and completed my diploma. I worked for some time at a fabric printing company doing the art design for them.

Getting married and having kids prevented me from enjoying painting as a hobby, but did some pottery and other creative works to keep the artist flame in me alive.

In the early 2000's i had a very serious stroke and that forced me to quite down and of course I started to paint again. I love working with oil although other mediums does come to play from time to time.

Currently based in Cape Town for the last 18 years and just love the Western Cape. There is just so much culture here and lots of beautiful scenery that one can take in and enjoy.
