About Carlene

Carlene Lindeque

As some modern artists, Carlene embraces change and incorporates random occurrences as features of her works . For writers, this involved 'automatic writing", for her techniques such as decalcomania and frottage allow for her to discover images suggested by change formations of the paint.

Carlene Lindeque is a South African contemporary painter who lives in Franschhoek. Her artistic process began as a young adult during frequent travels to Europe and visits to art museums and art galleries locally and abroad. Now, her primary source of inspiration for her richly diverse subject matter comes from her subconscious and collective mind. The artist experiments and explores with sensitivity what various colors, emotions and experience can bring to the creation of her abstract and figurative paintings.
