About Frans

Only started painting in 2002, i.e. new signature. Most of my work can be described as tongue-in-cheek, fresh with a narrative quality. The titles are also an important part of the painting. Recently introduced a new direction, which is more decorative and very simplistic bordering on abstract.
Influences are Mark Rothko's abstracts and Gary Larson (The far side) sense of humour. Modigliani's and Marc Chagall's use of colour.
