Reference Home Gallery About "Gauteng Mine Dump" I grew up in Springs and my memory of the Gauteng minedumps is referenced by time at Wits, and holiday trips to Kruger when we passed through Barberton, Mpumulanga area. The mines were the mainstay of the SA economy and sadly this situation is fading quickly ... but it is reminiscent of my history. |

My architectural training has led me to appreciate painting historic buildings in and around Durban, mainly in watercolours however having a great appreciation for the outdoors landscapes, seascapes, birds and wildlife are part of my portfolio. The subject matter of my oil paintings focuses on the dramatic interplay of light at various times of the day on our beautiful berg landscapes. My watercolours of the same subject matter are softer, ethereal and evocative. I like to use bold colour in my still life oil paintings so they are rich and colourful.
