About "Kruger Park Wilderness 4"

As a child and young man I drew pictures literally every day. Later as my career progressed I started neglecting my drawing. My paintings became laborious affairs that sometimes takes weeks to complete.

One of my "resolutions" for the new year was to make more small paintings. I first do monochrome, alla prima sketches, and then overpaint them with oils. (I did most of the painting on these paintings while sitting at our favourate restaurant in town, having one cup of coffee after the other. But I loved every moment of doing them! I have said before - I love Africa dearly - and I mean every bit of her.
My heart is drawn to her vast open plains and her wildlife but I dearly love her "secret places" , like the hundreds and thousands of small rivers and streams.
How many times have I not walked down small streams, twisting and winding their way through the bush, hoping to find - expecting- a "surprise" around every corner. It could be something small like a bushbuck or a band of mongoose or a kudu bull or, if you're lucky enough (or is that "unlucky"?), a lion or a lone elephant bull?
