About "Phantasia Dolphins Dilemma" Alvera was inspired by Salvador Dali's work. She figured that he asked a silly question and then painted a silly answer, which resulted in a fun, unrealistic fantasy of things not quite working the way they should! She spent some time playing with a kind of question and answer theme, where she asked a question and then painted the answer. This is one of about fourteen paintings still available in this category. |

Alvera Walker passed away in Feb 2008 at the age of 82. She started painting at 62 when she joined a local art club in Port Alfred. Within a year she was selling potboilers at the local coffee shops. Alvera loved painting the wildlife big five, animals which she grew up with in the Rhodesian bushveld. She spent the last ten years of her life near the sea in Port Alfred, a lovely quiet seaside town in the Eastern Cape. Many of Alvera's magnificent seascapes and dolphins were inspired by the beauty of this place. She leaves a legacy of only 150 paintings that include birds, dolphins, wildlife and flowers. She also painted some whimsical paintings that she called her "What if? "paintings, which were strongly influenced by Salvador Dali. Many of her paintings have been sold to art lovers around the world and now grace some of the most beautiful homes in the world.
