About "The Saftey of Swimming with Sharks - 3"

In this predominantly blue and orange work, a fish swims against the flow, circled by sharks. It is the fine balance between the courage to move forward on one's own path while being aware of those who would prevent you from doing so. It is thus a statement of independence. I am a multidisciplinary female artist with ADD, drawn to contrasts, chaos, and unexpected beauty. My work explores the tension between predator and prey--both literal and metaphorical--through layered acrylics and visceral bursts of spray paint. I shift fluidly between styles, echoing the restless, nonlinear patterns of my attention. Each canvas is a collision of impulse and intention, instinct and vulnerability. Animals, often symbolic, emerge and dissolve in fragmented landscapes, inviting viewers to question power, survival, and identity. My process is as wild as my subject matter--urgent, intuitive, and unapologetically untamed. Nothing sits still. Everything is in motion.

About Ann

I have created several series of works, Wild Africa, Prey.Pray. Zulu Lulu, and the "EWE or sheep series."
In 2006 Ann started her Ewe series of works, which propelled her into local and global recognition.

In addition, Ann is a published writer, journalist, teacher and facilitator of Art &workshops targeting corporate, domestic and educational target markets.
