About Jim

I was born in Liverpool, England, and came to South Africa in 1974 where my interest in wildlife art developed. I have recently retired after 45 years working as a boilermaker. Now I have time to draw and paint, something I have enjoyed doing for as long as I can remember. I thoroughly enjoy painting portraits, both animal and human, where I can lose myself in the detail.
My other passion is writing and illustrating children's stories; "Stories in Rhyme for the Nimble young Mind" and "Uggy and the Mammoth" were both published using my own illustrations, which gave me great satisfaction, as it is spiritually rewarding to see both passions combined in a single work.
