About Joseph

DIED IN DECEMBER 2025
Joseph Stiens has been painting since he was a young boy, and he sold his first painting in Brussels, where he was born. After fleeing the Congo with his family in 1960, he was able to support the family through sales of his paintings. He spent 40 yrs in Namibia, where his paintings were very popular with the tourists. Due to ill health, he and his wife relocated to Onrus River, where he spent the remaining years of his life. He painted his final painting 3 months before his passing.
He left a legacy of many paintings which are on view at his son's home in Onrus.
