About Annelie
Annelie was born in Hartbeespoortdam, where she
Grew up and went to school.
She studied at Technikon Pretoria, performing
Arts Technology in 2000.
She went to Sicily in 2003 to complete
research on Sicilian puppetry for her degree.
Thereafter she moved to Cape Town.
Where she worked for Artscape, painting sets and
backdrops for the theatre. Shortly after, she went to
Dubai to work on the Ibn Battuta shopping mall,
traveling exhibits and to install projects made in
Cape Town by the company marketing theme
environments (MTE).
She also worked on a couple of movies, such as
Doomsday, and others.
She went for a second time around to Dubai to work
on the project Atlantis, Dubai Palm Jumeirah.
A Sol Kerzner project. She worked for a company, ThemeWorks, and amusement white water (AWW)
She recently worked on the miniseries, Crusoe.
Annelie is currently furthering her studies at the University of Pretoria in education.
My inspiration as an artist is life, all objects that live. Everything in life has a beginning and an end!
My paintings are a combination of organic lines combined with geometrical elements, as well as how valuable light is in our lives.
Annelie's motto in life is: learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow
