About Kathy

Kathy Kay developed an interest in art from an early age. Originally her preferred medium was water colours until convinced by well known artist Dale Elliott to experiment with oils and in which she has been most successful.

Kathy lives in the coastal town of Shelly Beach, virtually on the beach. A constant source of inspiration is the ocean and her chosen favourite subjects are naturally seascapes and beach scenes. However she is equally proficient in painting landscapes and a wide variety of other subjects, including wildlife. Her aim is to capture the atmosphere of the moment with the influence of light playing a major role.

Having traveled extensively throughout South Africa and surrounding countries she has been exposed to the vibrancy and the warmth of the country and its colourful people which is reflected in her art.

Kathy is an imaginative and accomplished photographer and often uses her photographs for subject matter.

She undertakes commissions and will gladly discuss requirements with prospective clients without obligation.
