About Susie

I was born and educated in Germany and studied art at school there. I emigrated to South Africa many years ago, and my passion for art never dimmed, although circumstances forced it into the background. Now with more time, and with my techniques refreshed by lessons from two well known overseas artists, my love for oil painting is expressed in two very different styles, post-impressionist landscapes and still life.
The one allows freer rein to the inspiration I draw from South Africa's wonderful variety of interplay between mountains and the sea, as well as the terrain that joins them, all under the unique African light and cloud patterns, while the other keeps me disciplined in my technique and allows for a playful relationship between random objects that delight me.
