About Jenny

Jenny Regan

I was born in Zambia, and grew up on our farm on the banks of the Kafue River, and it was here that I started my love affair with the bush and the wild animals. I then moved on to Namibia, then Botswana for 20 years, recently moving back to Johannesburg. In Botswana I combined my two loves, by becoming a Professional Wildlife Guide.
I love the diversity of the bush in Botswana, and try to capture the space and the vivid colours that I see. I am also very saddened to see the impact that we have as a species on the bush and the wildlife in it, and if one of my paintings can make people more aware of - and in turn respect the splendour of our wide open spaces, then I have achieved a great deal.

Exhibitions

I have had a few solo and group exhibitions here in Botswana and in Namibia, with many of my works being sold overseas.

In 2002 the National Gallery bought one of my paintings for their permanent exhibition.
2009 - Deptartment of Civil Aviation, Botswana Government bought one of my paintings to hang in the new upgraded airport in Maun.
In 2003 my painting "Spirit of Africa" was awarded best watercolour painting on show.

I have recently been commissioned by the Postal Services in Botswana to do two sets of stamps for them, one on the wild dogs, and the second a definitive series on birds.
