About Betzy

Being an artist is to be aware of and recognize your talent whilst developing ones inner self. For some, this could take a lifetime, others sooner. I began sketching and painting at a very young age and have been painting now for 35 years and have never yet lost my passion. I have always found tremendous inspiration from colour, various light shades, reflections, shadows and textures. Many of my works are "real" while others are imaginary. Painting to me is very uplifting, tremendously inspiring, and many times sacred, reminding me that it is part of Gods creation. I find much joy and inspiration in my surroundings and this helps me to become more passionate and inspired.
When looking at some of my works, my greatest desire is that people will experience the mood, become aware of the colour interaction, shadows, light and also the vast energy captured on canvas by selective techniques.
Capturing my innermost feelings on canvas is like explaining poetry to music. Painting expresses mood and feelings clearly, sometimes communicating silently on a peaceful journey explaining much about life.
From my previous gallery I sold over 2000 oil paintings. Many of these ended up in London, America, namely Kanses, Botswana and South African.
I have recently launched art classes along with a small but highly effective gallery. Most of my quality time is spent with my students. I enjoy teaching tremendously and find that teaching and sharing my skills and knowledge over the years provides me with much joy and fulfilment.
I had 4 Gallery's did commission work for 4 Hotels and give workshops at Clarens, Dullstroom, Hartebeespoortdam and Kempton Park.
