About Gert

I was born on a farm near Keetmanshoop in Namibia, where i grew up.
During my school career i never had any art training, but because of my love for nature, trees and mountains inspired me to draw landscapes on any availible surface.
At the age of about 40 i got some oil paints and a pallet knife from a friend.

About 3 years later while alone at home with nothing to do, i took out my paint and start experimenting. The only paintable surface i could found was a plastic castard jar.
My first ever oil painting was about to be made. With the pallet knife and black paint i started to paint a landscape
with mountains and trees on the white jar. Very impressed with my art work, i went the next morning to buy some more paints and my first brushes.

As a beginner without any training what so ever it wasnt easy, but i think, i did well

I commit myself not to make any painting more than once. There will always only be the original painting in circulation.
