About Liz

Started painting seriously after 1983. Attended art workshops in Italy and France in 2001 and 2005, also in Croatia in 2011. Attended Etching workshops with Mimi van der Merwe locally. Further studies with Ann Lyndsel Stewart, Anton Uys and Prof. Mike Edwards. As at some stage I trained as a florist, I tend to favour flowers and trees. I have taken part in many group exhibitions, and have painting and etchings in collections both locally and internationally. I paint in oil and watercolour, I use Windsor and Newton Artisan which is their water mixable oil colour, which I love and find very user friendly as I can wash my brushes in water. I work on canvas and on Arches cotton oil paper 300gm. Watercolour always on 300mg paper, usually Bockingford. My work is mainly impressionistic, the watercolours are worked only with a brush, no pencil drawing.
