About Patricia
Patricia was born in Kent, England and emigrated as a child to South Africa with her parents.
At an early age Patricia showed a gifted artistic talent for painting in oils. She pursued a career in commercial art at Wits Art School after finishing her formal education.
Her professional art career started in 1984 with numerous exhibitions in Johannesburg, Durban and a solo exhibition at Constantia in Cape Town in 1992. The exhibition was opened by the President's wife which proved to be a 75% sell out. Her works have been hung worldwide in well-known galleries in Johannesburg, Natal, and the USA. Amongst her achievements were commissions to paint two of the State Presidents ( PW Botha and Nelson Mandela ) together with other dignitaries.
Martin Walsh from Impact Publishing had a strong influence on her work as a constructive critic encouraging her to keep her standards high.
Her works have been on calendars for large corporate companies She painted a historical work for JCI Goldmines called " Breakthrough" Patricia has supported Charitable organisations Patricia was commissioned by a JigSaw manufacturer to do 10 works of art
Her wild life paintings have made her world famous. Her style is unique and every painting radiates a warm, ethereal glow from within . Patricia puts "WGH" on her paintings as part of her signature. It denotes "with God's help" as her guide in her work and daily life.
