About "Encroaching Man " Mankind encroaches on nature looking for housing, minerals, natural bounty while polluting the environment. Here that encroachment is symbolised by the inexorable march of the power pylons across the canvas; the never-ending demand on nature is seen in the circular flight of the flamingo's; while the shrinking environment is seen in the reduced body of water the birds call home. A single Protea bloom looks on at the threatened biome while a sky darkens with blood. |
