Frequently Asked Questions |
I've never bought art/anything on the Internet before, how do I know I can trust you?
We have a six year track record shipping art all over the world. Every sale is handled individually and is backed up by the very best in customer service. We accept all major credit cards and will confirm every step of the way with you so you know exactly how much you are paying, when your art is shipped and when you can expect delivery. We have hundreds of happy customers and we want you to join their number.
How can I tell what the painting will really look like?
We make every effort to ensure that the images on the site give a clear and accurate representation of the work as it is in real life. We do keep a number of high-resolution images of works that are listed. For the most part. time and again, our buyers tell us that when it looks good on the site, it looks great when they get the real thing and that if anything, the screen cannot do the art full justice.
All those listed are professional, experienced and recognised artists. We do not list students or amateurs and require references from all artists before they can be included.
I see great art but I can't quite find what I'm after - can you help?
Yes, drop us an email with what you're after and we'll see if we can help you choose something suitable or put you in touch with an artist from whom you can commission something.
What if I order a painting and I don't like it?
We offer a full money-back guarantee in line with the Distance Selling Regulations. If, within 7 days of receiving your purchase, you decide you do not like it for any reason you may notify us and we will refund you the price you have paid upon satisfactory return of the work in its original condition. All you will need to pay is the return shipping charge.
Every item is unique and some works may be rolled, some may need to be crated so we always calculate shipping to your destination upon receipt of order, offering you options on the delivery method. As a guide most items cost around $30 to insure and ship. We can often consolidate the shipping of multiple items in one order.
Why are there so many sold works on the site?
We retain works on the site even after they have been sold as this gives a better perspective on the artist's capabilities and portfolio. A great many of our artists are delighted to take on commission work and will be happy to paint you a new composition based on a previous work or something to your own requirements.
I really want a portrait of my wife/horse/house/motorcycle - can you help?
Most likely, yes. The first thing you should do is browse the gallery and see if you can find an artist whose style and price ranges is appropriate for you. Then you can email them or us and we will arrange everything for you. Artists normally require a 50% payment at the start of the commission.
I don't see any works or other mention of the famous artist ... why isn't he listed?
By all means drop us an email and we will see what we can source for you. We have a vast network of contacts with galleries and private collectors. We do try to be as comprehensive as possible in our coverage and we are adding new artists all the time.
I like the artist ... but he doesn't seem to have written anything about himself - why is this?
We encourage all our artists to write a little about what informs them as an artist and what inspires them to produce each work they do. Nonetheless they're an enigmatic bunch and for some they want the art to do all the talking. Otherwise they would be writers ;)
