About "Fowl Play"
I love capturing moments in time.
This portrait is from a photo I took of my aunt's dog. He was lying in the driveway looking bored. Too lazy to move his head, his eyes tell the story, as they stare off in the opposite direction.
I loved the afternoon light as it created new colours, reflected in his black coat.
I added a small white feather to the foreground to add some interest to the portrait and titled it: Fowl Play. He looks really guilty, don't you think?

About Colleen
I'm an animal lover and an animal artist.
My work is inspired by the animals who share our lives with us. Horses, cats and dogs are my most popular subjects, but I've also created portraits of sheep, cows and a range of different birds.
I aim to capture the deep bond that we share with our companion animals. My work includes pet loss bereavement counselling too. Sometimes I'm the only person my client speaks to about the deep loss they experience when they lose an animal friend.
I feel that the pet portraits I create go a small way to helping a pet's owner heal from their loss and have a special keepsake to remember their animal by.
I love capturing quizzical expressions, soft eyes, temperament, character and the pure essence of my animal subjects.
