About "Golden Gate Bridge, Ca, u.s.A." This was a beautiful photograph my talented sister took on a trip to San Francisco some years ago. She sent it to me at a time when I was fairly immobile for finding subjects to paint. It is so captivating a scene, that even though I didn't use it 'when', I've held on to it and thought it would be an excellent addition to my show at the PA Capitol. It was, and continues to delight me with its lightness, delicacy and abstractly-painted qualities. The frame is a classic, by Rick Walker of Walker's Framing. A hot pink enamel, it dates back to the 60's and was dug out on impulse of talent from Walker's extensive inventory of authentic antique and classic moulding stock. It literally took him two seconds to run through his inventory in his mind to find this perfect synthesis and compliment to the piece. |
