About "Ken in the sky"
Inspired by my bother in law Ken Mansell who is addicted to flying
Sharon Berry-Ellis has been painting professionally since 2002. She studied technical and architectural drawing many years ago but found the discipline too restricting. She refers to herself as a cognitive explorer and finds painting in oil on canvas the most rewarding and forgiving medium to express her creativity. Her subject matter is constantly evolving and she finds favour in large metaphysical paintings, but often forces herself to paint realistic and impressionistic portraits, wildlife, landscapes and still lifes to keep her grounded and focused on seeing the world around us. Her passion for painting has transformed into a necessity closely following eating, drinking and breathing and she finds inspiration in all creation. She has patrons in most continents and has enjoyed successful exhibitions in London, New York, Australia and South Africa. Her work can be seen at her studio/gallery in Redelinghuys, as well as a permanent revolving exhibition at Patonis in the Wilderness.
