Reference Bird nature About "Kingfisher" This is a finger painting done in oils. I applied the paint directly from the tube onto my fingers to the canvas, thus maintaining the brilliance of the colours. I experimented with the Impressionist Impasto style of painting for a Van Gogh effect, focusing on colour, texture and reflection yet maintaining detail of the Kingfisher. I managed to create a feathered effect of the birds feathers and captured it's flight as it emerged from the water with the fish. |
