About "Left Behind"

I love boats because they have such beautiful curves, and I admire fishing vessels because they are 'working' boats. I loved the colours of this boat, and there was something so desolate and vulnerable about it - it just 'talked' to me.

About Nadine

I started doing art seriously when I was 12 years old and had the privilege of attending classes with the late Bill Ainslie.

The time I spent with Bill Ainslie and his teachers at what became the Johannesburg Art Foundation had a profound influence on my work and my outlook on art. Their teaching style promoted freedom of expression, self-exploration and innovation.

I have used several mediums; my absolute favourite is chalk pastel.

I treat each artwork like a love affair: sometimes we fight; sometimes we don't speak to one another and sometimes ... well what can I say?
