About "Mandala No.3: Impact"

Mandalas are symmetrical symbolic images that are associated with wholeness and change. This painting evolved from a single yellow diamond on a red background, to a starburst that I came to think of as "Impact". The lively movement and the forceful colours represent the idea of impacting, having an impact, changing the world.

About Judy

I draw and paint because it gives me joy. I am currently working on a series of portraits. Last year I completed a series of mandalas, exploring an old interest in symmetry. Mandalas are symbols of wholeness and change; as such I find them a particularly good vehicle to explore emotions. A lot of my earlier work was based on dreams.
