About "Rock Art"
The rock formations in nature round where I live is formed by the wind that blows over them and in some cases, through them. The waves in this formation may also have been formed by an ancient sea many, many millenia ago. The abstraction in this case is to show how the rock, something hard is shaped by something soft and almost insubstantial, like the wind.
I use a range of artistic media in my artworks. I paint for the sake of painting and express colour and mark through the medium of photorealism. The collages or mixed media works are experimentations in expression of how things got to be as they are. Colour photos have atmosphere and black and white photography has a beauty of its own. There are meditative qualities in the tonal value as well as in the subject matter. The plant studies accent a delicate, transient state of being. Due consideration is requested of what it is and in the abstractions of what it is not, or what it became. The photos are printed on canson (drawing paper) for texture. They are available in editions of 25.
