About "Seal Point Lighthouse at Cape St Francis, SA"

The Seal Point Lighthouse at Cape St Francis is the tallest masonry tower lighthouse on the entire South African Coast. The light has a range of 28 nautical miles and sends out a single flash every five seconds to guide sea traffic safely around the rocky coastline where many ships have been wrecked. The lighthouse was completed in 1878. It is a historic monument and a popular tourist attraction. It is surrounded with various indigenous shrubs and is a fisherman’s paradise. It is located near Jeffrey’s Bay, the surfer’s Mecca.

Anna Sophia Aletta Johanna van Zyl, an Educational Psychologist, studied art under guidance of Elize Olivier, Beau Art, Jeffreys Bay. She prefers working in acrylic, water colours and oil pastels. She also does pen sketches.

Anna finds her inspiration in the country life surroundings of the Eastern Cape in South Africa. She also loves doing replicas of the old masters.
