About Caerli
She concentrates on traditional painting and drawing, but with contemporary ideas. Her work is versatile, truthful and warm. Landscapes, very often depicting contemporary every day South African life, portrait commissions, still life and maritime paintings. Her interests include photography and botanical art and conservation amongst other things. she has a great love for reading and is passionate about collecting art books. A passion which was instilled in her as a child by her aunt who was Professor of Art and Languages at University Leyden. She works from both her studio in Rondebosch and her studio on her conservation farm in the Karoo.
