About Nico

Nico Phooko

The mingling of the old and the new, contemporary and the traditional urban and rural cultures leads to an interesting interplay in the images and shapes in Phooko's works. Phooko uses the energy of his emotions and music to create his abstract and semi real pieces. In his work he expresses love, hate, pain, pleasure, strength and weakness in a rhythmic and melodically profane visual way.[0x1] It[0x1]s important to elevate the soothing powers of music and art through elegance and the therapeutic might of art and music superiorly through that lack of restrictions. Notes are strokes and tones are splotches, abstract and real[0x1].

Phooko enjoys spontaneity in his work. This is demonstrated when he paints live on stage at live music events, arty and corporate functions documenting the proceedings as they unfold onto canvass
