About Anke
As a child, I dreamt of having my own house, a place that I could call my own, a place that I created. A home to me means a place or space of safety and security. My family moved around a lot so I got to experience different places while I was young. I always played outside in the garden, building different spaces from rocks, branches and other found objects, in which I created my imagined home. These experiences and memories fed my artistic inspiration for taking in my surroundings and creating art from my direct environment, with all its complexities and influences.
