About Kelly

A young art student of mine once said that painting was "like a poem for the eyes", and I think that captures so beautifully what art should be about: visual poetry - aesthetic, evocative, and otherworldly all at the same time.

You'll notice that I don't stick to just one genre or medium in my work; the main goal for me is to create something that whisks the viewer away from ordinary, mundane things to another place or time where beauty and life thrive... Or to take something ordinary and depict it from a new viewpoint that reveals its inherent beauty and life force.

And that's what has drawn me to the visual arts for as long as I can remember. Whether producing my own work or teaching art/photography/design to others, I'm still as captivated now by this field as I was the first day I watched my paintbrush magically produce a streak of colour on paper.
