About "Table mountain, Cape Town 1893"

I saw this old photo of Table mountain, Cape Town 1893. The important city has room to exist between the semi-circular wall of rock which seems to slope almost to the waters of Table Bay and the sea itself. I stay in Cape Town and it is a beautiful view from Panorama. I painted it impressionistic at an evening with a sundowner.

About Mike

Mike Taljaard

I am inspired by the fact that I can create. There are so many things we need to be thankful for. I paint what inspires me and not what normally sells. The colors and combination of darkness and light motivate me to create what is in my mind. I like to paint with my fingers. I went through a stage in 2008 where I painted a clown every week. They are not copies of people but are created from my mind. I concentrate now on baroque art. I love painting reflections on water. Keep on keeping on.
